The North Face Recon Backpack for School & Travel - Durable Laptop Backpack with 30L Capacity - Perfect for College, Work & Outdoor Adventures

They managed to engineer some great features that are only found in 120$+ backpacks. Pockets for sunglasses, double bottle holder, straps galore, carabiner holes, incredible front pocket which stretches enough to fit some of my jackets (this should be in more backpacks), reflectors,roomy laptop pocket(could probably fit a 23 inch laptop), a F*** whistle (lol), plastic material on the bottom to prevent it from getting soaked when laid on the ground, zippers feel premium. Most comfortable back pack I've worn, the padding is nice and plushy-stiff (if that makes sense).Areas for improvement: The organization from inside the pockets could be miles better, it just passes as okay. There isn't enough padding at the bottom of the laptop pocket for my liking, I would recommend having a laptop sleeve. Good for carry up to 17inches laptops. Doesn't stand by itself.This is for the 2021 version.Disclaimer: I added bungee and zipper pulls to it to give it more functionality and personalize it a bit.You can't do this with the 2018 version.I also added strap keepers to it.Niether the 2018 nor the 2021 versions come with strap keepers, but they are easy enough to make with velcro cable ties.-The kangaroo pocket is an improvement over the 2018 version.It stretchs much wider and the daisy chain loops are placed wider and more stable.That makes adding bungee cord more effective.-The sunglasses pocket is now big enough for a tablet.-I'm not convinced this 2021 version holds as much in the main compartment as the 2018 version, but it's pretty close.-The admin pocket has more internal pockets than the 2018 version, but the pocket itself doesn't open as wide as the 2018 version.Overall I think the 2021 version of the Recon is an improvement over the 2018 version.But your mileage may vary.it was a lot cheaper than the other colors for sale in this same versionIt’s a beautiful backpack with large space and great quality!
